![]() Not only was Jesus’ zeal consuming in that it caused Him to take radical action, but it set Him on a collision course with the Jewish leadership that eventually ended in their delivering Him to Pilate for crucifixion. In this case, “consuming zeal” may have a bit of a double meaning. However, Jesus was the only one on record who actually did something about it. It is quite possible that others had felt “uncomfortable” about what was going on in the temple. Upon seeing Jesus’ actions in the temple, “His disciples remembered that it is written: ‘Zeal for your house will consume me’” (verse 17). To those who sold doves he said, ‘Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!’” (John 2:13–16). So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. He had “cleansed” the temple of the wicked men who were extorting and cheating worshipers: “When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Jesus had just proved Himself to be very zealous for the house (or temple) of the Lord. The description of being consumed by zeal for God’s house is applied to Jesus in John 2. As with many psalms of David, this one can be applied to the Son of David as well. ![]() We do not know what event or series of events caused him to write Psalm 69, and we do not know if it was before or after he became king, but it seems that his dedication to God caused other people to scorn, ostracize, mock, insult, and reject him. ![]() It’s difficult to search the house for goats when your entire team is constantly being hounded by demons and Anna. The declaration “zeal for your house consumes me” is originally found in the Psalms:Īnd the insults of those who insult you fall on me.Īnd I am the song of the drunkards” (Psalm 69:7–12). That will get you to 10, and you won’t have to deal with the harder elements. Once all four of you have a goat, head to the fire and finish them all off in one go. Just keep searching the house while stopping to heal fallen teammates as needed. Let your teammates know if you pick a key up and, if they’re familiar with the game, they’ll tell you what door it unlocks. If you find a key, the door it goes to needs to be opened. There are keys all over in Devour, and goats can be found anywhere in the house. You and your team need to keep searching the house, but don’t burn any more goats yet. Otherwise, you’ll want to crouch and turn off your flashlight if she’s nearby and you can’t run away. The UV light can also be used to slow Anna down as long as her eyes aren’t red. If you make it in time, they’ll burn up before they can kill you and you’ll live to fight another minute. Look directly at your feet in the direction the indicator is pointing and hit them with your UV light. Demons crawl on the floor, and a red indicator will show on your screen when they hurt you. Anna gets faster and more aggressive, as demons increase in number. The more goats you sacrifice, the more difficult the game becomes. For the first part of the session, burn goats until you get to six.
